Big Things are Happening in Omaha

on

August 26-28, 2022

The PPofN Fall conference will be held in North Downtown Omaha (NODO) in the Hot Shops Art Center.  This area of North Downtown is a mecca for creatives, and includes both the Millwork Commons District and the New Makerhood District.

Our first speaker, Tony Corbell, will demonstrate how to create a stunning portrait with a single strobe, how to use multiple strobes to create dramatic dynamic portraiture, optimal use of modifiers and reflectors, and many other techniques for obtaining exceptional portraits under a wide range of conditions.

On Saturday morning, the class will break up into small groups led by team leaders and practice the techniques from Friday in various downtown locations, including the newly renovated Leahy Mall and the picturesque Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge.  You will also have the opportunity to photograph some of the artists at work in the Hot Shops Art center.

We have some really fun activities planned for both Friday and Saturday night.

On Sunday, Aubrey Lauren will provide an information packed program on how she stays fresh and relevant to the current generation of high school seniors and parents.   She will also demonstrate her approach to shooting a senior fashion session.

This will be a fun and education packed weekend that you won't want to miss!

AUBREY LAUREN

Program title: Trends: Buying, Selling, and Social media

Description:  Although many photographers are worried about the future of the industry, Aubrey has experienced considerable growth in her business and she expects that trend to continue.  She will shed some light (and offer hope) by sharing her best strategies for social media marketing as well as trends in booking, selling and buying.

About Aubrey

Aubrey has been a photographer for about 10 years.  She started out as an intern at one of the leading studios in the Midwest at 18 and has worked her way up.  She is "Passionate about elevating the industry and using social media as a tool."  In her free time she's an influencer on social media and loves to network in her city.  She described herself as, "Super social and always on the go!"

Her brick and mortar portrait studio is located in Shawnee, KS, just outside of Kansas City.  Her studio consists of 2 photographers and 5 other part time employees.  She specializes in fashion inspired senior model experiences.  Her business relies on social media, especially instagram, as the main source of new business.

Early registration is on $149 for PPofN members and PPA members.

Not a member of PPofN?  For $198 you get registration to the conference and full year membership to PPofN.

Hotel Accommodations:  The Cambria Hotel has given us a block of rooms for $109 a night (which is a great rate for downtown Omaha).  They have also waived the regular parking fee for guests that book within the block of rooms.  The Cambria is a short walk from Hot Shops.

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to ppofninfo@gmail.com no later than 60 hours in advance of the event. Refunds come in the form of 50% credit toward a future conference, class or workshop.
